PINK WALLS AND WATERFALLS

PINK WALLS AND WATERFALLS

Shooting my outfit in front of a wall usually is not my style! But there is one wall who made it impossible not to use it as a photo location. We are talking about one of the most instagrammed walls in Los Angeles – THE PAUL SMITH PINK WALL on Melrose Ave. When we crossed the building by accident we immediately stopped for a quick outfit shoot. I changed into my A-line mesh dress from &other stories, wore one of the very few high heels I had with me on our road trip and my new cat eye sunglasses from Crush. This dress is very feminin, but since it is crafted from mesh, it still has that sporty appeal that I like so much. I started to gather a lot of dark blue pieces lately which is kind of obvious regarding this outfit post. Hope you guys like this look and are enjoying your Sunday to the fullest.

BUCKET LIST : DRIVING THROUGH DEATH VALLEY

BUCKET LIST : DRIVING THROUGH DEATH VALLEY

While being on a road trip Melissa and I drove through some impressive landscapes. One was for sure the Death Valley which we passed on our way to Las Vegas. And this brings me right to my next point of my bucket list series here on the blog. If you might remember I have already suggested you this experience which was really mesmerizing. Driving through Death Valley was certainly not less exciting, so it is definitely worth considering if you find yourself traveling through the country. We didn’t leave the car for too long, because oh boy it was hotter than hell. Haven’t experienced such a heat in … uhm forever. Why I chose to wear all black that day – one very reasonable question. You know these people who always opt for the wrong outfits. Yes, I am one of them. I hope you enjoy these photographs! Have you been there yourself already, if so what was your experience like!?

SILVER CRUSH

SILVER CRUSH

After my last blogpost I thought it was time for a solid outfit presentation. But before I start talking about my look, I’d like to set focus on this awesome shooting location. Christina and I took these images at the meanwhile defunct Berlin Tempelhof Airport. I have been living in Berlin for more than four years now and also had a great time over there either it was for work or leisure. What I love most is the fact that this place is being used for various events since it is such a multifunctional location. Because there is something fascination about airports, isn’t it?

But now let’s talk fashion. Today’s look is a little homage to silver. Because literally not all thaglitters is gold ;) If you remember my outfit post from Vienna, you have already seen me wearing this shirt dress which I absolutely admire, since it is so ‚different‘. Not only length, design and fabric wise were so convincing, but also the price was unbeatable. So I got hold of this beauty during last summer sale! Every year heaven is a place on earth once you hardly see anything else than discounts and sale advertisements. This makes it almost impossible to resist. Unfortunately that also means that there are a lot of people in the same shopping mood and I am no big fan of long shopping tours through the city, especially when I am not the only one. Thereby I prefer centered places, digital or in the real world, where I am able to purchase as much as possible. What do you think of these online shopping malls?

BUCKET LIST : WATCHING THE SUNSET AT HORSESHOE BEND

BUCKET LIST : WATCHING THE SUNSET AT HORSESHOE BEND

You’ve probably heard by now that there is something called the ‚Bucket list‘. It can be described as THE most important to-do list of your life and lists all your dreams and goals which you would like to accomplish before you die. Ok, death is a topic no one likes to think or even talk about. But well, we can’t deny that eventually the day, when we will leave this beautiful earth will come. For some sooner or later, but it is inevitable. So of course most of us have certain dreams or plans they want to realize before that day comes.

HORSESHOE_BEND_SUNSET_GITTA_WITZELHORSESHOE_BEND_SUNSET_GITTA_WITZELHORSESHOE_BEND_SUNSET_GITTA_WITZEL

As the list is every individuals wish list of life dreams, no list will be the same. So I don’t want to present you a collection of points in order to have lived a happy life like the articles about ‚100 things to do, 66 places to see, bla bla bla‘ intent to say. But rather give you inspiration for developing your own, because bucket lists can definitely change over time. That is why I will start this new blog series ‚Bucket list‘ from now on and presenting you guys moments, places, activities or what so ever, which were of great significance to me and might as well be to you.

In this post I am introducing you to the moment of watching the sunset at Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. Honestly, it wasn’t exactly on my ‚Bucket list. But thinking back I experienced something really mesmerizing.  Prior our road trip I didn’t even know about this place which is located near Page town in Arizona. The location itself is already really impressive, but seeing the sunset at the horizon from the UNPROTECTED! steep cliff  from where there is a 1,000-foot (300 m) drop to the Colorado River. Hell yeah was I scared, but it was worth it every second! Hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed this beautiful moment. And I can only recommend to experience the same thing once. All the best! x Gitta

PS: I am very curious if you already have a bucket list and if so, what’s on it? Please let me know in the comments area.

PAISLEY PRINT

PAISLEY PRINT

In one of my recent post I introduced you to this co-ord trend. I also told you that I extended my collection of these stylish two piece sets. This time I decided to buy a really cool Paisley print combo. Both the shirt and the pants are loose fitted, so they are not only good looking but also very comfy! Classic Win win situation :) These combo clothes look a bit like suits to me, but in a very cool and stylish way. Or what do you think? I also must admit that I just recently started to like the Paisley pattern. But nowadays I don’t want to miss it. And did you know that the name derives from the Scottish town Paisley ?! So tell me, do you own Paisley printed clothes

The pictures where taken on a sedcard shoot with Daniel Kuhlmann from It’s alright, Ma. Since I also work for TV and Film jobs I always need up-to-date pictures. Check out his website for his beautiful wedding photography, which he is specialized in. But in my opinion he also created just as well great portraits ;)

SPORTY SPICE

SPORTY SPICE

Summer in the city, so get your flip flops on and let’s go! Wait, what? Flip Flops – a shoe which most fashion designers won’t consider to be a shoe, but others keep saying ‚It is the most simple shoe in the world‘. And I agree! You guys know that most of the times I live by the rule ’simplicity is key‘ and this look is no exception. So I tried to style my the ultracool red orange flip flops during one of these very warm summer days in Berlin. And yes: Orange is the new black :) Sidenote: Summer seems to be gone towards other regions in the world right now! But hey, at least one summer outfit.

My friend Christina who helped me to take these pictures is also a really talented hair and make up artist (we already worked together for this project), so I also asked her to do me these cool boxer braids which I am a huge fan of but not able to do myself. In the end I think I looked like Sporty Spice with this meshed tanktop, backpack and these flip flops. Are you PRO or CONTRA flip flops? Let me know in the comments below!

LACMA LIGHTS

LACMA LIGHTS

If the was one photo shoot location in Los Angeles I wanted to take some outfit pictures at – then it was LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Since LA was the last stop on our road trip along the westcoast, I kind of forced Melissa to drive all the way from Venice Beach through LA’s horrible traffic solely to visit this spot. Even on of my favorite blogger colleagues like Peace Love Shea, The Blonde Salad or Anouska seem to love this place and used it in at least one of their outfit posts. And since Los Angeles is one of my favorite cites LACMA was for sure on my bucketlist. These lamps, more precisely this large-scale assemblage sculpture by Chris Burden called Urban Light, where definitely a great spot to shoot at. LACMA also offers other great outdoor artwork which makes your pictures pop ;)

Anyway, I wore this fashionable co-ordinates from Glamorous which pieces you can easily wear apart from each other, but it looks better together :) What I love about the top is that you can also wear it off-shoulder. I am currently a lot into these co-ord sets and already bought another one, because they are so versatile and perfect for summer. Are you also a fan of this matching outfit trend?

BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

Can you remember the ‚Boulevard of Broken Dreams‘ song by Green Day? Well, where else to think of the lyrics than in a city full of aspirations, hopes and glamour. Exactly, Los Angeles! To be more precisely on Hollywood Boulevard, which embodies the American dream come true. A place known for it’s glitz and glamour, fame and fortune.

I have already visited Hollywood Boulevard back in 2007, when I spent some time in Santa Monica for a language course. So I was really excited when we chose a nearby accommodation during our road trip. This place is already quite breathtaking during the day. But when the sun goes down and the lights turn on it is just magical. Melissa and I strolled through the area even though we were really tired after traveling from Carlsbad to LA that day. For the great occasion of walking on Hollywood Blvd at night I threw on my figure hugging black dress and some red heels. I lived slightly on the edge by wearing a MIAMI snap at the west coast – how dare I! But tried to make up to it with wearing a LA engraved backpack. Haha.

LEVITATED MASS

LEVITATED MASS

When in LA … go and visit LACMA – the Los Angeles County Museum of Art with this large-scale sculpture called Levitated Mass. Love this kind of art and really enjoyed this place. Needless to say how much I miss this city! Love being in the city of angeles and know for sure that I have and will live there some day. Since we haven’t had much time we only strolled around outside the museum. Well the Californian weather was all warm and sunny so the outfit was kept to a minimum like the art displayed. And as a tourist you just know that there will be a lot of walking – so flats it is!

Have you ever been in Los Angeles and did you also go to LACMA?

RETROSPECTIVE

RETROSPECTIVE

In collaboration with GoCustomized / Anzeige –

Hi guys, hope you are having a lovely whitsunday. For today’s look I really got inspired by the 70’s style. Recently I figured that those vintage treasures like fringes, flares, embroideries are totally my thing. This time I took my printed flared pants out for a walk (first pair in like 10 years!), put on some round sunnies and well, also combined a backpack with some heels. Something you wouldn’t usually mix, but they say opposite attracts, don’t they?!

Also my new phone case is kinda vintage inspired. Since I also work for the TV and Film business, I am a huge movie addict. Therefore I created my custom smartphone case using an image of an old cinema ticket. Haven’t seen something similar so I was really glad that I had this idea hehe.

STOP WARS

STOP WARS

And here is another outfit we shot while strolling through the Wynwood Art District. This part of Miami is sooo worth a visit and I highly recommend doing a guided tour where you will get a lot of input and interesting facts about the murals and their artists. After seeing an Instagram pic by Toni Mahfud I definitely had to shoot infront of the mural by Eduardo Kobra. I love this painting and the message ‚STOP WARS‘. I hope you guys like it as much as I do as well as the outfit I am wearing. Had to opt for a simple look for not disturbing the overall picture.

CHIC BERLIN HIPSTER STYLE

CHIC BERLIN HIPSTER STYLE

Today’s look is not a typical Berlin Hipster look, but I would say it is the chic version of it. I interpreted this styling trend my way and put some glam to it. I wore my striped Balmain x H&M circus Blouse with some cropped trousers. Seems like I tend to wear this combination, but this time I dared to wear socks with my penny loafers – like a real hipster. I am too much into flats these days than to combine this outfit with some heels. Since handbags compliments every woman’s look I took my beautiful blue Guess bag. This bag plus my nude trench coat are making my black and white outfit somewhat special. But I am still not sure if I either like these visual socks trend or not. What do you think?
