LACMA LIGHTS

LACMA LIGHTS

If the was one photo shoot location in Los Angeles I wanted to take some outfit pictures at – then it was LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Since LA was the last stop on our road trip along the westcoast, I kind of forced Melissa to drive all the way from Venice Beach through LA’s horrible traffic solely to visit this spot. Even on of my favorite blogger colleagues like Peace Love Shea, The Blonde Salad or Anouska seem to love this place and used it in at least one of their outfit posts. And since Los Angeles is one of my favorite cites LACMA was for sure on my bucketlist. These lamps, more precisely this large-scale assemblage sculpture by Chris Burden called Urban Light, where definitely a great spot to shoot at. LACMA also offers other great outdoor artwork which makes your pictures pop ;)

Anyway, I wore this fashionable co-ordinates from Glamorous which pieces you can easily wear apart from each other, but it looks better together :) What I love about the top is that you can also wear it off-shoulder. I am currently a lot into these co-ord sets and already bought another one, because they are so versatile and perfect for summer. Are you also a fan of this matching outfit trend?

BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

Can you remember the ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ song by Green Day? Well, where else to think of the lyrics than in a city full of aspirations, hopes and glamour. Exactly, Los Angeles! To be more precisely on Hollywood Boulevard, which embodies the American dream come true. A place known for it’s glitz and glamour, fame and fortune.

I have already visited Hollywood Boulevard back in 2007, when I spent some time in Santa Monica for a language course. So I was really excited when we chose a nearby accommodation during our road trip. This place is already quite breathtaking during the day. But when the sun goes down and the lights turn on it is just magical. Melissa and I strolled through the area even though we were really tired after traveling from Carlsbad to LA that day. For the great occasion of walking on Hollywood Blvd at night I threw on my figure hugging black dress and some red heels. I lived slightly on the edge by wearing a MIAMI snap at the west coast – how dare I! But tried to make up to it with wearing a LA engraved backpack. Haha.

LEVITATED MASS

LEVITATED MASS

When in LA … go and visit LACMA – the Los Angeles County Museum of Art with this large-scale sculpture called Levitated Mass. Love this kind of art and really enjoyed this place. Needless to say how much I miss this city! Love being in the city of angeles and know for sure that I have and will live there some day. Since we haven’t had much time we only strolled around outside the museum. Well the Californian weather was all warm and sunny so the outfit was kept to a minimum like the art displayed. And as a tourist you just know that there will be a lot of walking – so flats it is!

Have you ever been in Los Angeles and did you also go to LACMA?

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE

While sitting on a plane for 12 hours, I had some time to edit couple of pictures from my road trip in the US back in October 2015. These pics were taken at South Lake Tahoe, where we did a little stop while traveling from San Francisco towards Carson City. So Melissa and I enjoyed some time off from all the road tripping and enjoyed this beautiful nature over there.

Speaking of road trip! The next one just started! Yesterday, I arrived in Miami Beach and will be spending four days here before heading to Key West. If you have any tips please let me know!

SANTA CRUZ BEACH BOARDWALK

SANTA CRUZ BEACH BOARDWALK

Some mixed photos from our short stay in Santa Cruz (California). We stopped by this really nice amusement park called Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk while traveling towards San Francisco. Unfortunately the park was still closed upon our arrival, but it was fun to just walk along and soak it all in. Amusement parks always have a special impact, especially when they are located right next to the sea. You always feel like a kid again since it brings back so many childhood memories :) I remember a lot of school trips and private visits and always enjoyed it. The park offers various attractions and nice shops paired with the view of the pacific ocean – simply magical. We also walked along the pier to get a nice view of the park and there were a lot of seals chilling in the sun. Can you tell that I like those cute little creatures haha!? I would love to swap roles. Just relaxing and eating the whole day, from time to time a dip in the water … couldn’t think of anything better haha!
